Primal Hawaiian Pizza

IMG_1368

I was going to skip today, everyone deserves time off during the holidays! I changed my mind and wanted to put up my version of hawaiian pizza. Never one of my favorites truthfully but it sounded kind of good the other day so I threw this together. Enjoy!

Black Forest Ham Slices

Mushrooms, chopped fine

Peppers, chopped fine

Pineapple, chopped or from can

Spaghetti Sauce

Shredded cheese

This uses a muffin tin like my recipe for pizza pockets, place the ham in the muffin tin and arrange it so that it becomes a cup or liner. Put a small amount of mushrooms, peppers and pineapple in the ham cup. Place about a tablespoon of sauce over this (not too much don’t want it to get soupy) and then top with shredded cheese. Bake in a 425 degree oven for about 20 minutes, check every 5 minutes after the first 10 because ovens vary and depending on how much you loaded the cups and the thickness of your ham then can be done sooner or take longer. When the ham is browning on the edges and the cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 min. When removing the ham pizza from the tin you will notice some water in the bottom of the tin (from the ham and veggies) there is also probably a small amount in the ham cup. Tip the ham cup carefully over the muffin tin as you lift it out so you can drain any water inside from the pizza (mine had a small amount inside but it was very easy to just tip it out). These reheat wonderfully, even up to 4 or 5 days later! I enjoyed them a few times as an afternoon snack, hopefully you will too.
